Hoorah! Roadtrip!
I'll tell you, hell is in "hello,"
And heaven's in "goodbye,
it's time for me to go."
As I shoulder my pack,
I know there's not a place
that won't look better looking back.
Can you hear that sound?
The whistle's blowing,
and my feet are off the ground,
the wheel's rolling,
yesterday is where I've been,
tomorrow's where I'm going.
It's not about the destination,
but the journey,
and life is my vacation.
Hell is in "hello," my friend,
and heaven's in the knowing
that the journey never ends.

Hell Is In "Hello"

This could be adapted into a folk or blues song. The rhythm and rhymes are effective, succint. One could say "hell" is in "hello" because of the inevitable goodbye, but I like your "heaven's in goodbye," and "heaven's in the knowing that the journey never ends," better. Sometimes I'm asked if I believe in love, and my impulse is to say yes, but then I think "lie" is in "believe." And so it goes. I need to believe your wisdom: "life is my vacation."
Your posts give me faith somehow. Thanks.
' life is my vacation ' great!
