2 Month Anniversary!
THE REST OF IT GOES HERE
Sacrelicious (Joel E.) created this humble blog on April 2, 2007 and minutes later invited yours truly to join. It was his insight (after experiencing the successes and shortcomings of our 2 previous groups) that blogspot would suit our needs best, that blogspot's ease of posting, commenting and inviting others would encourage and inspire each of us to consistently publish our best work. 2 months, 10 members, and 112 posts later the verdict is in. Writers' Club Internationale is flourishing!
Whatever T.S. Eliot meant by "April is the cruelest month" (The Wasteland) certainly pertains not to our writing community. We wet our feet with 6 writers, 48 posts. May saw no dropoff with 2 writers added and 64 posts. Personally I'm pleased with the quality of the posts and proud to be a part of this writing community. I've known all of you personally and my life and writing is made richer because of this. Our sharing of literature has brought me joy and has inspired the best parts of me to continue during often difficult times. Thankyou, all of you, for contributing to this community.
Finally I'd like to say a few words about each of you, and about what I consider to be the highlights of your submissions.
1) Sacrelicious (Joel E.)! I can't thank you enough for starting this blog. Your humor, wit, and intelligence has inspired me. These are my favs. "It was a Wednesday," "Black Crystal," "A Brief History of Polytheism," "Stream of Television Consciousness," and the epic haiku, "The Ballad of VP of Public Relations, Donald Weismuller."
2) Robyn! Your 3 poems impress the shit out of me. "New Trees," "I Catalize Cataclysm," and "Hero," are easily publish-worthy.
3) Zyniac! Your 4 contributions have been a joy to read. "Broken," "The Other Day," and "Today and Somewhere," I consider great.
4) Detroitsquirrel! In the spirit of classic haiku you are the master. "haiku?," and "in awe of spring," are priceless.
5) Joel D! Just one great piece of writing after another since April 30th. "Lethologica," "Furry Shoe Story," "You Say I am Imperfect," "Taco Story," "Little Puddles in my Garden," and "Hope," are but a sampling of my favs.
6) Go Glytch! You know how hard I worked to get you in this community, and the wait was so worth it. "Beginnings," "Irony," "Blue Funk," "Faeries in Knots," etc.,=uncanny genuis!
7) Kelly King! Looking forward to more of your brilliance. "Vices," "It all Boils Down," both increased my sperm count.
8) Psyche! Though you haven't posted yet your insightful comments have buoyed our spirits and are much appreciated.
9) Strubes! What's up Nephew? Actually he's promised to post real soon.

I was going to look up what happened on "this day in history: two months ago", but you would be amazed at how hard it is to search for events that are too old to be news and too recent to be history.
i like my ass licked.:P it is I who have to thank you all for sharing your soul with me.
