Once More, With Feeling

I remember now
how you looked
[walking away,
because you did it again]

Chest full of
a breaking heart
as your lips gave voice
to a lie
[no tears left--
but I could see them in your eyes]

Hairline cracks and
jagged edges,
crumbling walls

[so beautiful
in your shattered state
that I almost wish
I didn't ache
to piece you back together]

Can I fill the holes
with myself?

Great line.
